Don't forget to let the rain
heal your wounds and clean your stains.
Wash away the filthy mess.
To the drops your soul confess.
Stand aloft, your head held high,
water falling in your eyes.
Dripping, rolling down your arms,
purifying with no harm.
Soak your heart in water clear.
Open up your ears and hear!
Puddles pooled around your feet.
Mind and heart now as one beat.
Skies will clear and clouds will go.
Sun at last its face will show.
The storm has passed, as with time.
Years will fade from their aged prime.
But don't forget this to do,
in my absence, remind you.
Always know to let the rain
clean your wounds and heal yo
Somewhere within the mystery,
some time within the night,
at last my heart, it's beating now.
At last I've found my light.
the darkness it surrounded me
and stole from me my joy,
unceasing tears in shadows
until I heard your voice.
The smallest hope I held inside
to keep alight the flame
of love and peace and happiness
when I first heard your name.
But then the fear grew from inside
and stilled my hopeful words.
The dread: of losing what I have
with no love from the world.
To risk it all without a gain,
my heart was sure of loss.
But still I spoke with heartfelt words
no matter what the cost.
And then, behold, my heart was
Unravel me a mystery.
Create for me a song.
Wave for us a story,
we've both known all along.
A tale of broken hearted,
who seek out joy in life.
The two who long for hope
through all the trials and strife.
Divided from beginnings,
alone without a light.
United in the middle,
preparing for the fight.
Weapons forged with laughter.
Shields made from the pain.
Back to back now partners,
cleaning other's stains.
As battle soon approaches,
don't fight this fight alone.
Allow me by your side now.
Your heart's become my home.
If one of us should perish,
If tears should stain our eyes,
don't regret a single moment.
We've no nee
Something like a heartbeat
Nothing like before.
Gentle smiles, secret laughter,
open Soul's door.
Terrified for moments.
Peace within the night.
Words of comfort, solace,
soaring high in flight.
Smallest of the hopeful,
gentle, sweet, and meek,
falling into heart's love,
making knees turn weak.
Lasting little memories,
bring about the joy.
Wonders at the meaning,
moments with this boy.
The final cure for loneliness,
one to ease the pain,
A romance full of happiness,
dancing in the rain.
Disjointed words, cacophony
sound louder than before.
A broken fractured symphony
but always so much more.
Still and quiet in the silence,
though blaring noises cry.
All the while the raging violence,
our comfort does deny.
The dumb, the deaf, the ignorant
create the wordless sound.
The foolish, useless sorrow chant
that echoes all around.
Screams of reason drown out quickly.
The mind goes numb and blank.
The foes of logic do not flee.
Their battle is quite frank.
And when the silence dies away,
only Truth still remains.
the greatest price they have to pay,
for those that stay the same.
The change is here, but not for long
Fruitless, vain, incompetence.
The light entraps the free.
An endless, restless circle dance.
No rest for the small bee.
The scorching heat, encroaching walls,
bright chains to bring him down.
And as they watch to see him fall,
He makes an angry sound.
As surely as dust turns to dust,
the dirt weighs down his wings.
At last he's free, but now like rust
he through the air now sinks.
Now liberty throws wide her gates,
but his path fades away.
Alas now mourn his dreadful fate.
The death he died today.

The catacombs were dark. Lit only by a few sparse candles the age old tombs beneath the University of Magic in Lyre had become the nesting grounds for magic of the more arcane origin. It was in the lowest, most central chamber of the Catacombs where a small girl sat huddeled on the ground. HEr arms clutched at her knees, trying to fight away the cold in her thin nightdress. She glanced up at the looming figure before her, his face obscured by the darkness.
"Show me your magic, girl." The small child shivered, shaking her head in defiance.
The man stomped his foot. "Show me your magic or I will make you!" Again, the girl shook her head. "Fin
My family is broken. Fractured, shattered, incomplete, not whole. My family is broken.
I cannot fix it, because it wants to stay broken. I cannot fix what refuses to be mended. I cannot fix it because I do not have the power to stitch together the pieces that no longer fit. I cannot fix my family.
My family has been slowly breaking, ripping at the seams, pulling at the loose ends until everything falls apart. It has been tearing for years. Somehow I am there, right in the middle, where the thread is most bare, thinnest and most fragile. I have done the best I can, to hold on to both sides, trying to pull together the two pieces that are bei

Crazy Like Fire: TCE Round 1
There were few things that Enthina enjoyed. One of them was solitude. And during her time on the boat while sailing to the island, there had been almost no time to be alone. Sailors were always running around shouting and getting drunk. And for Enthina, the trip was a living nightmare. By the time the island had been sighted, Enthina was more than ready to be rid of the Captain and crew.
She leaned against the railing at the prow of the ship, her fingers clutching her staff tightly as they drew nearer to the Island and the solution to her ever growing problem. Enthina glanced down at her right hand. It had become more trouble than she origin
I've never cried over a boy
When they tease or taunt
But sometimes there are tears
When my heart has no companion
And I'm alone for my life.
I once cried myself to sleep at night
Weeping and sniffing alone in the dark
But nobody ever knew about the tears
So I just woke up the next morning
And I went on with my life.
I've twice laughed so hard I cried
Not the soft chuckle or small giggle
But the loud, throaty bellow and tears
It made me sound like a man
And I remembered it all my life.
I've thrice cried because of pain
A broken toe, a fractured thumb,
a shattered vertebra and then tears
Only one person signed my casts
And I

November begins tomorrow, and so does National Novel Writing Month. Where people around the world all try to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. I'm participating for the fourth time, and hopefully this will be my third win. You should check it out!
The results of ~TheCuratioEffloresco (https://www.deviantart.com/thecuratioeffloresco) came out last week. I made it to the second round... But only by default. My opponent didn't have an entry. I was a little disappointed that I was the only writer without any risk of being eliminated, but I'm grateful either way. Now, I'm in the second round and somewhat intimidated by my new opponent :iconMacampos:.
I feel like this is going to be a doozy of a fight, especially since I like his character Apple. I created an antagonistic character for a challenge, and now I have to do my best to defeat an amazing protagonist character. So, I'm off to write like a mad woman!
So the other day while procrastinating on my NaNoWriMo novel and schoolwork at the same time, I discovered something quite wonderful. A very nice list of OCTs. And then my brain started rattling.
Someone I watch recently entered an OCT and I found the very idea of it awesome. But there was a hitch. Most OCTs only accept artists. And alas, I am a writer.
But after browsing for a period of time far greater than I should have, I came across THIS: ~TheCuratioEffloresco (https://www.deviantart.com/thecuratioeffloresco) It was exactly what I wanted, and also accepted writers. I was on cloud nine! And then they announced that they would be holding a writer's only section. This meant I wouldn
